When is the Right Time to Winterize My Sprinkler System?

The short answer is now!

The weather has turned cooler on Long Island and rainfall has been plentiful and consistent. There is no longer a need to water your lawn and landscape as Mother Nature is taking care of this for you. The soil has sufficient moisture and your landscape does not require additional watering.

If you have a new landscape than you may need to keep watering for a few weeks. Check with your landscape company. Keep in mind that overwatering has negative effects by displacing oxygen in your soil and washing away nutrients.

Historically, cold weather and below freezing temperatures can occur at any time during the fall. To prevent damage to your irrigation system and property it is strongly recommended that you call now to arrange your appointment and have this important service completed as soon as possible.
