Short answer is YES! 

The weather is cool and getting colder each day on Long Island. There is at least one day per week of rainfall. There is 1-3” if rain forecast for this Thursday. The soil has plenty of moisture and evaporation is extremely low. Lawn and trees are getting ready for winter and require little water to continue with their photosynthesis. Bottom line: there is no need to continue watering. 

The time to shut down your system and stop watering is Now!

Winterizing your system is a time and labor-intensive effort. The challenges are the following:

  • Scheduling a mutually convenient time.
  • Maintaining and preparing equipment. Trucks, compressors, hoses, fittings, etc.
  • Driving, time on the road,  go from client to client.
  • The actual winterizing!
