Long Island Heat Alert! Time to Water!

WATER! WATER! WATER!

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Long Island for the next several days.

It’s important that you increase your irrigation run times to maintain your lawn and landscape. My recommendation is to increase your watering. For rotary zones: 60 minutes/zone and for spray zones: 20 minutes/zone. Some water suppliers only allow odd or even day watering. If you have an odd number home then you are only allowed to water on odd days of the month. Even numbered homes are allowed to water on even days of the month. Please check with your water supplier for their requirements.

I would also recommend that you check the operation of your sprinkler system and manually turn on each zone and observe each sprinkler head for proper coverage.
